The Tiger Milk Mushroom Story?
Based on traditional Malaysian Aboriginal folklore, the Tiger Milk Mushroom (TMM) is believed to have originated from the nutrients of a tigress milk. As the tigress feeds her cub, the milk that dropped onto the forest floor is where the Tiger Milk Mushroom name derived from.
The Tiger Milk Mushroom consists of three parts: cap (pileus), stem (stipe), and tuber (sclerotium). The pileus and stipe are woody in nature while the sclerotium is a compacted mass of fungal mycelium containing food reserves. The sclerotium is white and produces a milk-like solution.
